    I’m using the Events List widget but getting a few events on the same dates. It’d be ideal to have them list the date once and then each event under it like

    DATE
    
EVENT 1
    
EVENT 2
    
EVENT 3

    Is this possible or would the widget have to be recoded?

    Never mind, I figured out I needed to use a text widget with shortcode and just style it with myown.css as described on the docs. For me, [events_list showperiod=daily limit=10] worked great!
