Couldn’t you add an attribute field? If you put the name of the default image in, then it will show it and if you don’t, it won’t? You’d have to know that if you didn’t add an image, you need to fill in the attribute.
That’s what I do with the time – if it’s an all day event, I put a “-” in the TIME attribute and show that instead of the actual time.

one question : is this user friendly? or do I have to do it ( add – in attibute field ) for each event?

Attributes are for events, not locations (not yet anyway). Locations already can have a separate image …
