Hi there, I’ve asked a few questions before and I’m still having a little trouble.
The google map for overall events only displays under very specific conditions. I was hoping that you could give me some insight to how the map uses dates, because I think this might be the source of the problem.
The map will display or not display depending on what I set as the “scope.”
If scope=all or future… the map will not display. If scope=tomorrow, today, or a specific date it WILL display.
The plot thickens even more. If I set scope=2011-05-05–2011-06-05 … the map will display. But if I set the second number to any date PAST 2011-06-05 it will no longer display! It’s all grayed out.
Does this indicate there’s a problem with the way we’re entering or storing the dates in the database? A typo somewhere? I work with someone else who handles most of our back-end stuff so I need to give him some clues as to what is causing this problem.
You can see the map here: http://worldoceansday.org/?page_id=11
Right now it’s showing scope=2011-05-05–2011-06-05 but this is not ideal since there are events happening before and after.
If I set the scope to anything where the end-date is PAST 2011-06-05 it grays out. I hope you have some idea of what might be wrong. Thanks for the help.
