In addition to the “control Currency and other default RSVP options” requests I entered at http://www.e-dynamics.be/bbpress/topic.php?id=1760
I would suggest that the following RSVP-related features would be useful for the Add New Event page.
1. Automatically turn off Paypal and other payment methods when the amount entered is 0, and automatically turn PayPal on when an amount is entered. (Assumes that in the future EME adds in an option to enable Payments by default.)
2. Refine “Allow RSVP until” time window down to the minute — that is, rather than using 1 day before event, allow registrations up until 10 hours, 59 minutes before the event. (And/or allow specifying of an exact cut-off time.)
By the way, does the existing Allow RSVP Until setting work off 24 hour day spans, or does “1 day” mean that I can register for an April 15 9:00 AM event up until 11:59 PM on April 14? What about time zones?
3. Display a running total charge with the Booking form. (Currently, the amount total does NOT appear until one clicks through to the PayPal screen.) Even without a PayPal payment it would be good to display the total — if for example the person is going to mail a check. EDIT: I see you have a #_TOTALPRICE code, but it only works in mail?
4. Include a feature for a non-WP user to invoke the Cancel Booking form on demand (rather than having to display it all the time). Or is this already possible with existing short codes?
5. Cosmetic improvements to the buttons (images) and booking form design — I think you already have this planned. Allow titling of forms (so we don’t have to use static titles that don’t make sense when the form isn’t displayed).
6. Create “Edit This Event” option to be displayed on single event views for a logged in WordPress admin/user. (Sorry, not really RSVP related.)

Holy moly — I just discovered #_EDITEVENTLINK and conditional formatting, so #6 above is already there! And I suppose #4 above is do-able by linking to a separate page with the #_REMOVEBOOKINGFORM code.
I love the power of this system.
#3 will be in the next version too. As for #1: normally it should be ok now, and #5 should be better as well 🙂
Concerning the timezone and request #2: wordpress doesn’t really provide a timezone info per user, so it’s … difficult. I try to set the timezone based on the client clock, but that’s no guarantee either. For now I totally ignore hours for this.

About #2, I don’t really care about the end-user’s time zone — I just want to know (and control) exactly when the cut-off will take place (at the server side).
For example, if we have separate “online” and “at-the-door” prices, I might want to shut down online payments 1-2 hours before the event starts, but not a full 24 hours before.
Understood. I’ll try to incorporate something like this. Maybe just changing the cut-off days to hours, or both …
ok, I took a look at it: will be easy to implement. I’ll keep the day option and add the hour limitation to it this evening.
Concerning your question: “1 day” is 24 hours before the event starts (start date and time of the event are taken into account)
Great, thanks so much! This will save us the hassle of rushing to the web site to shut reservations down at a given time. (Seriously, we’ve done that before. Silly I know.)
