Hi, I am using the events list shortcode [events_list] it is working fine in Safari; and gives me the correct list and each link in the list goes to the correct event. However in Firefox and IE each link takes me to an error 404 which has a peculiar page id that doesn’t exist.

Seems like you changed the special events page.

Also: deactivate SEO and see if it works then (you can just deactivate it in the EME settings as well).
If it works without EME using SEO: deactivate/reactivate the wordpress global SEO settings.
