Hi Franky,
now I changed my site to a provider with newer php so that I decided to upgrade from Envents Manager Extended to Events Made Easy.
First I deactivate the old version, then installed the new one, but the old events are gone.
I don’t have any other event manager especially not the oder EM….
So what to do? I deactivated all other plugins – but this didn’t help in any way…

I upgraded an old version of Events Manager Extended to EME without problems just last week. So either the problem is somewhere in your database access rights or you might need to start over. If you have a dump of your mysql db I can try it here.
Does this also mean I’m not out of luck jumping over versions of EME? I’m still way the heck back.

up to now the old Event Manager Extended did his work quite wll. But now with WP 3.9 it refused to do so… a lot of error announcemnts appear. I’d like to continue all the inserted dates on Events Made Easy. Besides this I find your plugin awesome..So I really need your help now to upgrade to Events Made Easy.
You proposed in 2013 to send a db-dump .
What parts do you need? Do you prefer any special plugin to get such dump? I never did it up to now..Thanks
DidiIt’s less and less likely to function, since the old plugin died about 3 years ago …

thanks for your answer. Now I made a dump. What to do with it? It’s about 57 MB..!
Another way should be I give you for a while an access to my backend (via PM) you realize the upgrade and I give you a donation via paypal…Didi
Doing an update from remote is almost impossible if something fails. I can’t take that responsibility if your business depends on it. Also I already had lots of people promising a donation after I helped them in private, and never got anything in return after their issues were fixed so I’m not too keen on providing donation-based support.
Also, the db-dump of just the EME tables in mysql should not be 57MB, probably you did a dump of the complete DB.
If you’re not very familiar with mysql and wordpress failure scenarios:– keep your complete DB dump
– install but don’t activate the new plugin
– do the update
– deactivate the old plugin
– activate the new pluginIf something fails: shut down your wordpress site and restore the DB via your dump.
If you really feel uncomfortable with this procedure, I can still assist you with it but just without guarantees (of course if you have the DB dump, you can always go back to the previous situation).Franky

I understand your argumentation very well
Concerning the amount of the dump: Yes I did it completely because I don’t know which part you need. If you tell me I’ll try it again only with a certain part… what shall I do with it then?
I think the reason of the problems may be in the theme. A friend of mine who is familiar with php and a proprietarian CMS of his agency but not far with wp constructed it. So the best way is you check the part of the dump as said above.
And if you need some cash in advance should we talk about that via PM…
