I had the EME working in the site I am setting up so I could click on the events and it would take me to the description of the event but all of a sudden I get a Not Found error on all of the events I have in the system with a message “Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.”
I have tried undoing things I have recently done and searched for answers. When you search for the events on the site, it doesn’t find them.
For now the events page is at
http://gator3268.hostgator.com/~kwalker/events/
I don’t know if what I have messed up is in the EME settings or whether that message is from EME at all. Could just be from WP.
I guess it is obvious that I am knew to this, what I am looking for is probably obvious.
Sun 2 Feb 2014 at 00:29 #51154AnonymousInactiveI should add that the events are still there. When I go into the Events | Edit menu they are listed. If I click on the View Event link, I get the error page. If I click on the title of the event, it opens up in edit mode.
Sun 2 Feb 2014 at 01:53 #51155AnonymousInactiveI think I have figured out how I broke it but not how to fix it. I had two different Events pages. The one I still have was working fine. Although there is obviously more left to do on it, of the two it was the one I had been gradually improving. So when I saw I had two, I deleted the other one. My hunch is that I have someone lost the link used to read the Events data.

then create a regular page, and make sure the EME setting called “Events page” points to this page.
Then disable/reanable your wordpress permalink settings (or the EME plugin deactivate/reactivate, does the same thing) and you should be good to go.
Sun 2 Feb 2014 at 18:42 #51157AnonymousInactiveSorry about that, I had read that, even had it open in the next tab when you pointed me to it. Having done exactly what you said so clearly not to do, I deactivated the plugin and activated it again but it did not create the page. I found the page I deleted in the Trash and restored it which didn’t seem to solve the problem. I will uninstall it altogether, and reinstall from scratch and see if that works. Does it matter that the EME created Events page and my own Events page have the same name? Thanks for this, sorry to waste your time trying to sort out something I messed up by not following your clear instructions.
Sun 2 Feb 2014 at 18:54 #51158AnonymousInactiveHah, fixed! Once I pointed it to the right place, it worked, just like the instructions said. Tahnks for your patience and an excellent plugin. It looks like this is going to do the job for us. A donation will be on the way.
Excellent plugin, excellent instructions and support. You just need to choose smarter users!
Cheers.
