love the plugin! this is the most comprehensive i have seen. one thing this plugin doesn’t handle that i would like to recommend, or ask about rate for commissioning the work:
i would like to manage contact lists within the plugin, import via CSV, and distribution of invitations to specific groups and/or contacts. the email could follow an HTML template, utilize shortcodes, etc., and actually invite specific people to events.
doing so and passing contact data in links would allow us to simplify the forms because we could auto-populate name and email and allow the recipient to just respond Yes/No, number of people coming, and comments (optional).
would love to hear your input on this.
Well, wordpress has no notion of user “groups”, and I feel the management of users that haven’t taken part in events yet shouldn’t be handled by EME.
However, maybe this might help: next to being able to select participants of events or all WP users, maybe I could add a new field to allow a list of email addresses to be given in the form.agreed, but maybe repurpose “user role”, or implement users on a more limited basis just in the plugin tables until the user responds to the event?
ultimately, this would allow us to market events to our groups like an evite service and manage every piece within the EME interface rather than using a third party interface like an EMS like MailChimp or facebook, etc.
again, if there’s any chance of this being done on a small scale, i’d be happy to contribute.

The participants in EME are independent from regular WP users already, but implementing a group system there would require major developing.
