Events Made Easy › Forums › Generic › getting 404 error on all my events
Hi,
everything was working fine on my website with eme and then suddenly today I realize I can’t access the events pages any more.
When I list events in the backend and click “view event”, I get a 404 error
I tried this with old events, and also created new events, and always get the same error.
It’s as though the permalinks didn’t work anymore
I’m really annoyed with this because I’m supposed to migrate to my client’s live server next monday.

OMG I just realized I might very well have deleted the “very special events page” I wasn’t supposed to delete (that’s what happens when you try to do some clean-up of obsolete pages)…
Am I just dead and square with this? Is the only option to remove and re-install eme? Is there any way in that case to export my data before removing the plugin, and import it again?
Thank God it was in the trash. Restoring it solved this.
Perhaps it would be good to name the page something like “eme Events (do not delete)” instead of just Events. Remembering that a page should not be deleted is dangerous (what about if the site was to be managed by someone who doesn’t know about that page).
When you delete it, just create a new one and use that in the settings of EME, no biggie 🙂
Newer installations have a small warning on the events page that describes what it is used for, you might want to do that on your events page too.
Uhm… I got a notification for reply #53615 – I have no idea why. I haven’t been logged in here for days and this thread is from today.

Me too 🙂
Sorry about, a bbpress notification plugin started mailing to everybody … Should be ok again now.
