Hi
After a few syncs from facebook pages some of the locations get duplicated.
How can I fix this?My settings:
Skip synced events and locations – YES
Use coordinates for locations – NO ..Tried switching to YES but locations still got duplicated.Wed 26 Aug 2015 at 09:17 #54763FrankyKeymasterSome fb locations have no facebook id allocated, nor coordinates to use. The next version will have an extra possibility to also check the name+address before creating a new location, so no more doubles will be created then.

Wed 9 Sep 2015 at 13:24 #54797AnonymousInactiveFantastic update!
Here are some feedback after testing:
-The vast majority of locations are now being properly synced and skipped if already in the db.
One location still got duplicated one time, but not multiple times which was the case before.
The duplicated location have no location info(coordinates, address etc), although the original location has them.
– #_DAYS_TILL_START and [eme_countdown id=#_EVENTID] now shows negative values for all upcoming events.Wed 9 Sep 2015 at 17:58 #54806FrankyKeymasterThanks for testing. Could you post the last one as a separate bug report? I’ll fix that this evening …

Thu 10 Sep 2015 at 13:57 #54838AnonymousInactiveThis is not a problem for me as it only happens to one synced page, but I am curious why this location gets duplicated once and none of the others do. The duplicate is as described above.
I tried to replicate the error by adding pages with accented è’s to see if that made any difference, but no luck. Location name: PittersKafè AS, FB-id: 193981587308691
Mon 14 Sep 2015 at 12:30 #54853AnonymousInactiveAfter more testing I think I’ve found the problem. It seems when ‘checking for matching locations using just the name and address info’, the location will get duplicated if the address is set for one event and not another on their page. Here are two events from different pages which have produced duplicated locations on my site: Event 1 Event 2 .
Perhaps an option to check for matching location name only?Mon 14 Sep 2015 at 16:51 #54854FrankyKeymasterAlthough I could do that, I don’t support creating locations without address info in EME (although I seem to support it when creating the location via the facebook import).
In my opinion, a location “name” without further info is not really a location …Mon 14 Sep 2015 at 17:47 #54856AnonymousInactiveBy suggesting a ‘matching location name option’ I didnt mean to leave the further info empty, but that the plugin user could just fill in the missing information for synced locations themselves. If that makes sense or if it’s even possible.. 🙂
Mon 14 Sep 2015 at 23:46 #54859FrankyKeymasterI just tried the current version with your “Event1” link, and it only creates the location once.
Of course, another event with the same location name but not-empty values for address/town will cause another location to be created.
However that only happens once, and is correct imho. What you can do is set “Skip synced events and locations” at yes, so then you can update the event to point to the correct location and even delete the empty location. -
