Hi Franky,
I hope you are doing fine!? I just wanted to change my list of events and display an excerpt of the events. But if I’m right the Excerpt is part of the description so from the beginning until I set the more shortcut?
#_EVENTDETAILS (or #_NOTES) displays the details of the event [..] #_EXCERPT shows an excerpt of the event (this is the content of #_NOTES until you place a <!––more––> markerSo I do not have the chance to write my own excerpt that would be totally different from my event description? If so please move this post (if you like) to the feature request to implement an independent excerpt field.
Or please let me know how to write an excerpt that is not part of my description… maybe I just missed something.

So here is where I’m lost, where are the NOTES in an event? I only have the details section. And the documentation says #_EVENTDETAILS (or #_NOTES) if this is the same, I still do not know how to write an Excerpt.I would expect an independent field like one has at a regular post where the excerpt is placed?
If I write my Excerpt (separate text) at the top of the details section and mark its end with a <!––more––> marker that is all I need?
Then simply go to the page and place the placeholders to display either all (#_EVENTDETAILS), or just the notes (#_NOTES, which is basically the Excerpt??) or displaying the details without the notes (#_NOEXCERPT)? Is that what you mean?

#_EXCERPT is just the part from the details up to the <!––more––> marker
#_EVENTDETAILS and #_NOTES are identical and will display all
and I assume #_NOEXCERPT will just display all after the <!––more––> marker
Just a side note when I place #_EXCERPT I got an additional blank row before the excerpt starts. Can you please remove this extra line?
The extra blank line came probably because after the more-delimiter you used a carriage-return.
Now knowing what people want exactly (with or without extra cr) is difficult, but I think I got the “normal” way down. Try this change:
