As far I see it working the moment when I let’s say personalize an event that is part of a recurring event, the recurrence gets lost. It would be nice to have the chance to extract the next event of an recurrence as a single event but keep the recurrence with the next event as new start point.

To make it more clear an example:
    – Recurrent event: monthly Gathering, first Monday
    – I change the notes for the event in June and save it
    – I’ll get a separate June event with the individual and all the other not changing details and keep the recurring event now starting in July for the first time

Some part of that idea could be done by copying an existing event but still it is different and uncomfortable.

If you edit+save an event that is part of a recurrent event series, that event will get removed from the series and become a single event. The rest of the recurrent events stay as is.

Hmm, but where do I find them?

I tried again and opened the next event of an recurrent event. I see the message

WARNING: This is a recurring event.
If you change these data and save, this will become an independent event.
    Edit Recurrence

When I do so and save I’ve got the independent one but don’t see any hints to the recurring one.

Either you edit the recurrence (via the link “Edit recurrence”) or you edit the single event by clicking on the event title …

Ok, now I got it! I discovered another misunderstanding of mine and didn’t used the field for the end date of the recurring event properly. Everything works as intended. Sorry.
