Events Made Easy › Forums › Generic › PayPal IPN Error
Hello all,
recently I got messages from PayPal that “IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing”:
/events/?eme_eventAction=paypal_notification
– The above URL is properly set in PayPal.
– Accessing the above URL 403.14 (directory browsing disabled)
– PayPal IPN History shows HTTP response code 405 (Method Not Allowed)
Testing the other vendors’ notification URL results in the same error.
Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
If that url is not working, something might be wrong with your rewrite rules. Reset your wordpress permalinks and try again.
Thank you, Franky, for the prompt response! Unfortunately the permalinks reset did not help. Is there anything else I could try?
It might be that some security plugin is blocking you. Disable those and try again. Does the basic url work? I.e. http://ffff/events/ ?
If not: does the event page exist? You need to figure out what is blocking you then.
Solved! Thank you for the directions in troubleshooting the issue.
This is a Windows installation and with the last event addition an “Events” directory was created, containing csv files etc. I believe IIS was looking to resolve the IPN URL within the physical Events directory (being not case sensitive.) So I renamed the default EME page slug and all seems to be working now.
Truly appreciate your help! Thank you!
