Hello again,
it’s been a while, but it is just the moment of using an event registration and remarking that some information aren’t transmitted or stored.
The form contains fields of different types like text, Radiobox, Checkbox, Dropdown. It already existed and I added some new what makes me think that the problem are mainly the new ones even if the have the same settings.
First I noticed that #_FIELD what is used in the mail doesn’t show all the values. It seems to me that if the preset value of an Dropdown field isn’t changed during the registration process no info will be send. There is also no value for confirmation field (but it is okay because they are required anyway.)
While trying to figure out where the error happens I remarked that the missing info isnt’ in the booking details neither.
What todo about it?
Mon 24 Jun 2019 at 15:25 #60018FrankyKeymasterCan you describe the configuration of such a field (type, purpose, values, …)?
Mon 24 Jun 2019 at 16:06 #60019AnonymousInactiveSure. For example:
type: Dropdown
purpose: Generic
Requiered: yes
Seaarchable: no
charge: no
Three values
Three tags
rest is emptysame for a Radiobox with two values and a confirmation fields.
And I checked again the Dropdown fields where I receive info: they have the same configuration but there default is altered during filling the form.
Mon 24 Jun 2019 at 16:23 #60020FrankyKeymasterAnd what is the default value? Could that be empty or 0 (just asking, so I can try to reproduce later)?
Mon 24 Jun 2019 at 21:06 #60022AnonymousInactiveThere is a Dropdown with an empty default value so people feel forced to change and that is doing the job. There two with No/Yes, No is the default. A third one with text like the day of arrival to choose between three dates and one as default.
And the confirmation fields have Yes as Field values and I just noticed a blank as Field tags.So I checked the e-mail again and there is a blank after the : of the field names. (I changed that now). But not behind the ones that are set to No and not changed, There is directly a line break after the :
Mon 24 Jun 2019 at 23:49 #60023FrankyKeymasterI tried to reproduce the problem, but all mails generated here report the correct choice for dropdowns …
Feel free to set up a testserver so we can look at the problem in more detail.
Also: the next version of EME will allow radioboxes to be required (while requiring only one value to be checked, and not all of them …).Sun 28 Jul 2019 at 08:18 #60152AnonymousInactiveDamn! I am just on my way to post an issue and discover that this thread is still open. I was quite sure that I wrote a final statement and now it comes back to my mind that similar thing happened already some time ago.
Nevertheless … let me see if I can remember how I resolved this … at the end there wasn’t something special I have done. I couldn’t really figure out and partwise not even reproduce myself. I reset the values, changed backwards and forwards, saved again and at one moment everything worked as it is supposed to do.
