Events Made Easy › Forums › How do I … › non-site mail adresses do not receive confirmation mails of an event
Being very pleased with the EME plugin, I implemented it on our website. Yesterday I tested a new event. A problem occured. Confirmation mails are sent to all mail adresses with an extention of our website (in this case all adresses ending @volvo240-260register.nl), but confirmation mails send to private mailboxes do not arrive. Testmails from EME arrive on site mailboxen, but even so not at private mailboxes. I’ve checked the spam boxes, used a gmail adress and a non gmail adress. What do I do wrong? I hope you can help me.
Best regards,

I’m guessing your mailserver is blocking you from sending to other domains. Based on your explanation: make sure to use authenticated smtp, or if WordPress mails arrive at external mail boxes: check how they configured it on ohp level or use “wp mail” as sending method.
Although the first thing that you should do is to check your mail config and the mailserver log files
Ok, thanks for your fast response, I will check the mailserver. In the EME plugin I use wp mail, other plugins send mails to non site related adresses also, and that works fine.
I solved the problem. I changed the mail setting tot “PHP mail function”, in stead of the default setting “Wp-mail”, now everything works as it should. Thanks again for your help!
Well, that’s weird … wordpress wp_mail should work if it works everywhere else, but maybe your configured “from” address was giving you problems then. I’m curious about why …
