Events Made Easy › Forums › How do I … › Add membership to registration forms
Hi Franky,
I want to set up posts/pages for member-access based on events. So, only people who signed up for event 1 can access certain pages/posts for event 1. But it seems like the registrants have to sign up twice, once for the event and another for membership. Or I need to manually add these people to the relevant membership.
Is it possible to automatically add registrants to a membership when they sign up for an event?
Or add members to an event when they sign up for membership?
Thanks.
Events and memberships are not linked together like that. I can add extra code for a page to check access for EME people being in a specific group though. RSVP settings already allow to add people to a group automatically, so I think that would help, no?
If you can add that code for groups, that will be great!
I was also exploring other plugins to limit page/post access with passwords, otp, etc but many do not provide ways to link EME data with them. I was reading EME documentation and realized memberships can do it but I’m reluctant to use memberships because my target audience changes with every event so it’s quite pointless to get them to sign up for memberships.
Any chance of you adding a selector for hybrid events? Registrants can select to join the virtual or in-person event and be sent the relevant email according to their selection. I know this is out-of-topic for this post, so if necessary, I can start another post.
EME group access will be in the next version (for which I hope to receive a donation).
The hybrid thing is another subject.
The attendees will not be WP users so will there be a shortcode for them to enter their info like email or mobile number to gain entry into the restricted pages/posts?
Please check your email as I encountered a problem when trying to donate.
Currently EME is not managing passwords (why replace what WP offers?) and just entering an email is not sufficient for access evaluation. So for now you’d need to have EME auto-create WP users (which is an RSVP setting too), that way people also have password reminders, … stuff that I’d otherwise need to code up in EME.
