Installed v 1.2.0 and Add New brings up a blank space where the Insert New Event page details should show.

I can click on Events in the Admin menu on the left and it correctly lists my events.

    I can edit existing events.

As a workaround I can create a duplicate of an existing event and input all the details for the new event I had planned to add.

    The site is: http://jivacoustic.co.uk

Check your server log files, probably there are some db tables missing due to missing rights when installing the plugin

    Thanks for your response.

I went through the Control Panel of my webhost and found some error log info. I don’t really understand what I’m looking for, but hope this might help:

In the PHP error_log, under the sub-heading of

    wordpress/wp-admin/error_log:

    I found numerous occurrences saying

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function array_replace_recursive() in /home4/jivacou1/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/events-made-easy/eme_events.php on line 2210

Looking at the timestamps there were a few together – I guess that was when I repeatedly tried to add a new event.

I tried again today, and sure enough another occurrence is in the log with today’s date.

That means you have a very old PHP version. That function is in php since 5.3.0, released in 2009.

The just released 1.2.1 version has a workaround for it, but you really should update.

    Thank you!

I installed the 1.2.1 version and it works!

I will get on to my hosting company about PHP version.

Not only do you fix my problem, but also give great advice too!
