I would like to add text and images above the large calendar on my page (& ads).
Is there any way I can do this?
Mon 23 Aug 2010 at 07:47 #44351FrankyKeymasterJust put your text above your [events_calendar] shortcode in that page
Mon 23 Aug 2010 at 10:26 #44352AnonymousInactivethere is no [events_calendar] shortcode on that page.
My Events page was set up by using the settings area of the events manager. I selected “Display calendar in events page?” and then selected “events” as the events page.
When I go to the “Events” page using the wordpress “pages” tab, there is no [events_calendar] shortcode. I can enter text in the text box, but it does not show up on my “events” page. All that shows up is my large calendar.
I tried it a different way, by creating an new page in wordpress (called calendar on my site)and then putting the [events_calendar] shortcode on that page. The calendar I get is not the same as the one on my Events page. It does not have the borders and the event listing. Is there a shortcode for the Large calendar like the one on my events page?
Mon 23 Aug 2010 at 11:31 #44353FrankyKeymasterYes, it accepts multiple parameters. The documentation page was wrong here, has been corrected. See http://www.e-dynamics.be/wordpress/#shortcodes
In your case use at least: [events_calendar full=1] . I demonstrated this here: http://www.e-dynamics.be/wordpress/?page_id=63
The Events page is a stub page, any content on that page is ignored and replaced by dynamically generated content through Events Manager Extended. That’s why changing anything in that page has no effect. You should not use that page in your menu as well (keep it hidden, see the Settings for that) and indeed use a page of your own. Btw, in the just released version, this has been made more clear.
Fri 1 Oct 2010 at 09:43 #44354AnonymousInactiveI have the exact same problem. Could you explain how to ‘unset’ a Page that is set as the Events Page in the settings, without having to make a new page and publishing it even when there is no use of it. I understand about the shortcodes and have a page setup with the shortcode ready, but I don’t want to have an unnecessary page showing up on my sitemap or Google with the standard Full Calendar.
Thanks,
Alex
Fri 1 Oct 2010 at 10:06 #44355FrankyKeymasterIf you don’t want the automated page to show up: set the setting “Show events page in lists” to “no”
Fri 1 Oct 2010 at 12:06 #44356AnonymousInactiveI must be missing something as with these settings:
http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/7821/97467410.jpg
pointing to this page:
http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/9658/ss2m.jpg
creates this result:

Shouldn’t this use the text and shortcode from the WordPress page instead of ignoring or am I misunderstanding?
Thanks again for the help,
Alex
