Not only have I set up a few sites with EME, I am actually the admin for one of these sites (that’s what volunteering gets you 😉
Anyway, in using EME as an admin, I have some ideas for the admin interface that would help me a lot:
1) There are over 3 pages of events now. If I’m working on the last page and I edit an event. It takes me back to the first page, where I have to scroll down to the bottom, then click the >>, then scroll down to the bottom of the next, then click the >> then scroll down to the bottom of the last.
It would be nice if it would just take me back to the page I was on.
It would be even nicer if I could just look at one day/week/month at a time – instead of just having future, past, all – all the typical scopes should be available, a custom date range, a month, a day, a year, etc.
2) Bulk actions
a) a pain if I’m deleting something at the bottom of the list, I have to scroll all the way down, check it, then scroll all the way back up. A delete icon next to each event would be nice (with a confirmation, in case of accidental clicks).
Bulk actions should include, changing location, changing categories, changing contact, changing attributes – etc.
3) A Quick Edit feature – like the posts on WP. Being able to change categories, status, location, title, attributes, etc. in the events list would be nice.
4) A class field – needs a better name – what I’m doing now is using an attribute to denote if an event is changed by specifying a class name. It would be great to have user definable class names that could be assigned with a drop down. You could use a category too, but I already have too many of those.
5) On the event edit screen, HIDE the map until someone clicks something to show it. Right now, I have to scroll past it to get to the notes/description area and every time, I end up getting stuck on scrolling the map and then I have to move my mouse to the right or left to get around it before I can get down to the notes.
6) On the admin events list: Because I have events that are assigned 20 categories, they take up most of the screen because the categories are listed in one column. Listing them one after the other would make it take up less room, resulting in less scrolling (can you tell I don’t like scrolling 😉 )
Also, it would be nice if admins could define what they want to see in the list – frex, I only want to see the name of the location, not the address. Personally, I’d like the date column first, I really would like to be able to see the attributes on the list screen.
7) I think a tabbed Settings screen would be easier to find what you need and again, less scrolling.

But The first part of #1 and also #7 are for sure things that should be feasible to do for the next version.
