Cancelled Event & Reminder Email

Hi Franky,

I just presented this plugin to my CEO and he loves it so we’ll be implementing this to our website soon. Thanks for all your help there.

He did ask me 2 specific questions regarding this plugin and I was hoping you could help me answer them.

1. If the event get cancelled or deleted, will people registered for that event receive email notification about cancelled event?

2. Is there a possible way to send automatic reminder email to registered people? Let’s say certain days before event actually takes place.

If these features are not available that is fine, but would be great if you can implement in the future version for sure.

Answer to both questions: no.

For the first question: I’ll add a filter before the event deletion, and one after. There you can then ask for the attendees and send mail via a loop. But maybe I’ll also add an option where you’re asked wether or not to alert the attendees.

For the second question: wordpress has something that resembles a rudementary cron, but it isn’t one at all (it checks upon a visit if a certain action is overdue). So you can’t really schedule things, and I don’t like that. I’ll see for an option where you can do a wget with options that then sends mails.

But for both cases: the easiest for now is to just get the list of attendees and use your own mailing list software for it.

This is now possible using “Send mail” functionality together with the 2 new features in trunk:

* Feature: new placeholder #_PAYMENT_URL for bookings, in case you want people to be able to pay later on, or for reminders

* Feature: you can now select payed/unpayed and pending status when sending mails, good for sending reminders for payments etc …
