Events Made Easy › Forums › How do I … › Edit .PO files correctly
Hello everyone!
Since I found some Du/Sie inconsistencies in the German .PO files, I tried to edit them via the PO/MO plugin. Although the plugin told me that the files have been updated and recompiled successfully, the changes don’t have any effect.
How do I edit them correctly?
Best regards,
Kortschnoi
The German translation is handled via wordpress glotpress:
https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/events-made-easy
So corrections need to be done there.
Hm, I’d like to change
“Du bist dabei die folgenden Buchungen zu stornieren:”
into
“Sie sind dabei die folgenden Buchungen zu stornieren:”
But I can’t find it there. For a theatre, it’s not kind to say “Du” to an unknown visitor…
P.S.: By the way, the cancelling site also says,
“Du bist dabei die folgenden Buchungen zu stornieren:
31. Dezember 2017 19:30: Silvesterparty (1 places)”
Where can I change this “places” into “Plätze”?
If you export the current wordpress translations, you can search for those strings.
#: eme_rsvp.php:535
msgid “You’re about to cancel the following bookings:”
msgstr “Du bist dabei die folgenden Buchungen zu stornieren:”
Concerning the second question: currently this is can’t be changed (an oversight from the past). I’ll add an option for this.
This change should allow “places” to be translated:
https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/1678732/
I didn’t manage to export the translation. I couldn’t find any manual or instructions on the internet.
Does some know how to bring this correction into the official German translation of EME?
Normally I wuld say to contact the wordpress translator team, but since someone is already translating in German: contact Joerg Knoerchen (see the file ‘translators’ in the EME plugin dir)
