Hi,
I’ve installed EME and it’s brilliant – it has done everything needed and has been flawless. The only hurdle (the last one!) is that when someone books a place – the person booking receives the proper email (saying ‘thanks for booking’) but also the email intended for me (saying ‘peter smith has reserved 1 place, etc’).
In the ‘Mail’ tab in settings. I have the method set to ‘WP Mail’.
Why would they be receiving both of these emails?
Thank you for your help.
Tue 22 Oct 2013 at 21:05 #50801FrankyKeymasterThis should not happen. Did you try smtp mail or php mail as setting to see what happens then?
Wed 23 Oct 2013 at 10:58 #50802AnonymousInactiveHi, thank you. I have tried WPmail and PHP mail and also the Gmail SMTP option – but in every case, the customer gets both the ‘Thank you’ email and the Admin ‘this person has booked’ email.
I cannot work this out at all. Do you have any other tips?
Wed 23 Oct 2013 at 11:06 #50803FrankyKeymasterWho did you put as the contact person for the created event? Maybe that’s the problem?
Wed 23 Oct 2013 at 12:04 #50804AnonymousInactiveThe contact person in each case is ‘Admin’. Is there something I could change here?
Wed 23 Oct 2013 at 13:17 #50805FrankyKeymasterNo, but maybe the email for “admin” and the user you tested with is the same? Or a forward is happening? Do you have a test event setup for this? And which EME version are you using?
Wed 23 Oct 2013 at 14:20 #50806AnonymousInactiveIt’s the newest EME (I believe) and the test event is here:

I will have another look at the Mail settings.
Wed 23 Oct 2013 at 22:01 #50807FrankyKeymasterI just tested it: I only receive one email, seems ok to me.
Also: it seems you have changed the translation strings?
And a third thing: upon booking, the message tells me the price is 300 pounds, yet when I click on the payment button the price is one pound (for paypal). In my code, both are calculated in exactly the same way, so these should be equal as well. Something changed?
Wed 23 Oct 2013 at 22:43 #50808AnonymousInactiveNo worries; thank you for checking! It seems I am randomly receiving the Admin email to an email I was using to test. Why the Admin email is going to this email I don’t know – but it’s good to know that any other customer will not receive the Admin email. I have double checked now using another account and you are right. I still need to work out why I am receiving the Admin email to my account when I have the website Admin email set to something different. Might be something with the hosting as the email I get the Admin email to; is associated with my hosting pack – not the website specifically.
The test booking is set at £1 but it will always be £300 normally as a deposit. But I will replace the code back so that the amount matches whatever it is that is entered in the Admin. I think I accidentally changed that when looking at the language to change in certain bits. The language change was just done in the WordPress Admin dashboard – under Plugins > Editor > EME > and then the relevant page.
Thank you again for checking and pointing out the 300 issue!
Once again, thanks for a great plugin. I just donated to you 🙂
