Hi Franky,
I have a problem with the new update. I updated to version 48 but now something with the emails is wrong. When I try to book an event, there is a message displayed:”An error occured” at top of the registration and nothing more. But the seat is booked. I get the confirmation email but the email for the customer is not send. This happends for older events and new created events. I tried to change from WP Mail to other functions like php mail but there is the same problem every time.
Is something wrong with the registration or do I have to update something with the emails.
Wed 5 Sep 2018 at 14:20 #58365AnonymousInactiveUPDATE: Sometimes the email is working. Sometimes not. Its a very odd problem.
Wed 5 Sep 2018 at 14:49 #58366AnonymousInactiveUPDATE2: After pressing the booking button, the response is:
<br />
<b>Warning</b>: mysqli_query(): Empty query in <b>/***/wp-includes/wp-db.php</b> on line <b>1924</b><br />
<br />
<b>Warning</b>: mysqli_query(): Empty query in <b>/***/wp-includes/wp-db.php</b> on line <b>1924</b><br />
{“Result”:”OK”,”keep_form”:1,”htmlmessage”:”Die Buchung wurde entgegengenommen”}Tells me, this should work but maybe the warnings are causing the trouble with the error above the registration? and the emails?
Wed 5 Sep 2018 at 14:55 #58367FrankyKeymasterThe warnings are indeed causing the problem. But we need to figure out where the empty query is coming from … can you see anything in the webserver error logfiles concerning php warnings/errors/notices?
If you can reliably reproduce the problem, tell me how and I’ll take a look this evening …Wed 5 Sep 2018 at 15:05 #58368FrankyKeymasterAlso: if you can reproduce it at a testsetup at your location, please do try to upgrade to the dev-version and see if that fixes things, maybe I already fixed it 🙂
Wed 5 Sep 2018 at 17:18 #58369AnonymousInactiveHow do I do this upgrade to testversion?
Wed 5 Sep 2018 at 18:08 #58370FrankyKeymasterDownload the dev version from here and replace your plugin with it:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/events-made-easy/advanced/If you don’t feel comfortable doing it, then please wait for the next version or tell me how to reproduce it if possible.
Wed 5 Sep 2018 at 18:30 #58371AnonymousInactiveUnfortunately, i cant tell you how to reproduce this error. The server where the wordpress installation runs is a 1&1 managed server and I can connect to it but I have no rights to look at the Apache logs. I tried to transfer the files and the db to my local machine but this doesn’t work cause wordpress is configured for the https url of the domain. I haven’t managed to get it started yet.
I try now your suggestion with the dev version
Wed 5 Sep 2018 at 18:40 #58372AnonymousInactiveOk, seemingly the dev version fixed the problem. Iw ill keep testing.
Wed 5 Sep 2018 at 23:25 #58375AnonymousInactiveSo I tested myself and let it run for a while on live server and it looks like its working again. Can’t tell what it was but its very annoying.
Good Night! 🙂
