Events Made Easy › Forums › Generic › github release question
Hi Franky,
I followed the directions in the readme file. The installation installed a new EME (version 2.3.26) and I had to disable the old one before enabling the new one. But I have a problem with EMEFS (version 1.0.74) which tells me to install EME first. So the old EMEFS does not recognize the new EME even after deactivation and reactivation.
Which zip-file did you download? When clicking on “add new” and using events-made-easy.zip from the release, it should propose to replace the old version. Did that not happen?
The directory of the plugin should be named “events-made-easy”, that should be sufficient for EMEFS to work … if that’s not the case (which seems to be in your case): remove the old plugin-dir (or more at least away from the plugin dir) and rename the new plugin-dir to “events-made-easy”
The downloaded zip was called events-made-easy-main.zip. It created a directory in wp-content called events-made-easy-main. By removing the ‘-main’ from the directory name and reactivating the plugins, everything was in order.
Thanks for your support, I can imagine the work you must be doing. I remain a fan of your work and your plugin, as you know. Good luck for the next step.
If it was called “events-made-easy-main.zip”, then you didn’t download a release, but downloaded the “main” code as zip. This is not the intention of course (but it will work, don’t worry, you just have more “files” than others do).
Glad it works, feel free to give feedback or create bug reports on github
