Events Made Easy › Forums › How do I … › How do I change the database prefix being used?
I had to change the site’s database prefix from wp_ to something more secure, which works fine in all cases – with one exception; the events plugin [Version 3.3.5] can’t seem to find the correct tables;
WordPress database error: [Table ‘DATABASENAME.wp_dbem_events’ doesn’t exist]
SELECT * FROM wp_dbem_events WHERE …
The prefix has been changed, along with all relevant tables, and the wp-config.php is reflecting the correct change, so I’m at a bit of a loss as to where it’s getting the old prefix.
Any suggestions?
Thx!
WP 3.8.1 w/ Events Manager Extended Version 3.3.5.
That version is way too old. Please update to Events Made Easy and try again.
Okay – will I have to renter all the events and other data? Thanks!
Never mind me – I’ll go read the FAQs – I’m sure there will be something about migrating from one to the other in the docs. 😉
Well, normally it should take the old data, but because it’s already a long time ago and you have the prefix issue, I can no longer guarantee it. To be sure: make a db backup.
I suppose I could change the prefix on the related tables, then change them after the EMM plugin install. But yes, of course, I’ll back up the database. I do that before doing anything remotely questionable.;-)
