Events Made Easy › Forums › How do I … › Interogating Events
I’ve been messing around with EME for the first time and I’m really impressed with how much I can do with this. I’ve tweaked the formatting to get the calendar how I would like it, and can also see how I can break these down by dates, locations and categories (currently genres or event types).
I’m looking to see if there is a way of making the calenders easy to search for other things (from the calendar itself not just the sites search bar). For example. I have a calendar of music events. The user is looking at the Download festival, UK where Slipknot are headlining. User can then click on “Slipknot” (or any of the other headline/major acts) to bring up a list of Rock Am Ring & Rock Im Park Germany, Graspop Belgium and other forthcoming events where the band are playing.
So I’m kind of thinking something similar to a tag, but it doesn’t appear tags are supported with EME.
Thought 2 was whether there is some way of searching custom attributes that I would be able to use. I could’t see a way of doing this but I am a newbie so any advice gratefully received.
Alternatively if these are not possible, any suggestion of workarounds or other plugins which could work alongside EME to enable users to really interogate the events would be much appreciated.
I hope this is clear. To help, the closest example I can find is http://www.musicfestivaljunkies.com/festival-guide/uk-festivals/ . While this doesn’t do the search by artist thing I am trying to do, it does allow the user lots of search options in the sidebars which look like filters (main calendar page) or tags (the specific event pages)
Many thanks,
