    Hello,

    Let me first explain my use of this wonderful plugin. I am managing a 65+ member racing team. There are a lot of members who need to be spoonfed the information or they wont read it at all.

    I have three categories right now. Races, Rides and Events. Is it possible to change the colors of these in the calendar. So a race would show up in a different color than a ride, etc. They are all orange right now.

    I am looking for a way to get the information to the members with as little stress as possible. One thing that I know would get the word out better would be an SMS alert. I would love for there to be a way to send an auto message with a list of events for the next week, say every monday to ALL members with an SMS number entered in their profile. Is there a way to implement this through the plugin? Or is there a way to do this with a different plugin?

    I was able to answer most of my additional features through forum searching such as a comments/discussions box. I see there is no way to do this. (Please alert me if there is a way to do this now! It would be VERY helpful for us) Do you have any recommendations on discussion boards that can be embedded into a standard page. I only find ones that make a whole new forum but I need it to be embedded into content so I can keep the team portals sidebar, and make sure it is kept to only team members for viewing.

    I know some of this is away from the events plugin but I would greatly appreciate some input and suggestions. I am still quite new to wordpress. The events plugin has made my life a whole lot easier though! Thanks!

    For alerting people: there’s a (manual) email alert feature for outstanding events people have subscribed to. Maybe that helps? In other cases: you’ll have to extract the name+sms info from the wp database and make one yourself, for now it is not supported in the way you want it to. I’m not aware of other wordpress plugins capable of doing sms things.

    For the comments question: it can be worked around if using something like facebook comments. Search the forum for facebook integration: http://www.e-dynamics.be/bbpress/topic.php?id=48#post-3233 and

    My goal is to keep the discussion part private and only for the members. I think facebook comments would be too public and would leak information? No?

    For the SMS, you could use the e-mail alert features to reach an e-mail-to-SMS gateway service (most cell providers assign e-mail addresses based on the phone number).

    For discussions, one thing you could try is to link each event to any regular Post or Page you wish ,or maybe create regular WordPress posts for each event listing with my “Shadow Posts” kludge ( http://www.e-dynamics.be/bbpress/topic.php?id=1843 ). Once they’re at a regular WordPress page or post, people can use the regular old WordPress commenting mechanisms for discussion. Oh never mind — Franky discusses exactly that in his links above. If it’s a small user base you’d probably be fine landing on a single page for ongoing discussion?

    No idea about the colors; I think some other calendar programs do it. But I’ve always been pleasantly surprised by how many features EME has hidden away. Good luck.
