maps integration

I know this is going a bit far, but why not expressing, maybe you could realise this one day.
These are my issues which could be useful for the maps-integration to lead to more customisation.

– Setup for the marker: please take a look at http://www.infinite-compassion.de/?page_id=5. Here you can see that I integrated logos and small graphics into the site instead of the “ordinary” markers.
This can be useful e.g. to show affiliates or branch offices or whatever.

– Routes: including not only locations but also routes… this could be useful (regarding one of the latest entries) for more options: 1) to set your personal route in-site as a visitor, to know how to get to a venue, how long the track needs etc. (options in frontend) 2) to mark tracks for e.g. an NGO planning a demonstration/manifestation going from A to B, or a driver’s club to show the track of an oldtimer rallye etc. (options in backend)

– frontend link on maps with new page to get the full maps-options…

Well, most of this is very future-like 🙂

But in trunk I implemented the feature to get directions to an event …
