I came across the online calendar service Trumba. I think EME is very comparable, except for the event notification system. I’m going to look into adding some sort of notification system to EME, but wanted to see what your thoughts were.

Well, there are some notification systems for wp, but only for new pages/posts. I’ve already implemented a hook for when a new event is entered, now it only needs to be hooked into for notifications. And people probably want only notifications for specific categories, so they need to be able to subscribe/unsubscribe to categories (something like “let me know if something happens for similar events”)
@wputler: did you have any luck so far implementing this?
We decided to just get EME working with Google and then use Google / Feedburner to get the notifications we wanted for now.
I don’t totally understand feedburner yet, but do you know that EME can create RSS links as well (with lots of options: http://www.e-dynamics.be/wordpress/?cat=35 )?
Yes – and I put them in feedburner, because it gives the user the option of getting the info in an RSS reader or an email of the RSS feed (I think there are other services that do this too) EME is great 🙂 Feedburner (and like services) also allow you to keep track of how many people are subscribed to each feed.
