Hi Franky, posting here in a new bug per your request, following up on the posting elsewhere(EME stopped working after upgrade – Arras theme issue). I appreciate your prompt response. Reiterating, I ran into problems when I deactivated Events Manager Extended to activate Events Made Easy, receiving a fatal error suggesting certain files and directories could not be found. Following your response, i.e., that it seems to be a wp issue not an eme issue, I looked for answers in the wp support forums without success. I also deactivated and reactivated 19 other plugins without any problems among any of them, leading me to think there is some issue unique to eme, or that there is some kind of conflict. I tried activating eme while all other plugins were deactivated and got the same fatal error message.
Thanks again for taking a moment for helping to shed some light on this problem and possible solutions.

Fri 2 Dec 2011 at 13:17 #49160AnonymousInactiveI am using WordPress 3.2.1. The error message is as follows:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Warning: require_once(/home/www/1b3cdc2ba36a3d1ff0c298116ae64dea/web/wp-content/includes/upgrade.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/1b3cdc2ba36a3d1ff0c298116ae64dea/web/wp-content/install.php on line 39
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/www/1b3cdc2ba36a3d1ff0c298116ae64dea/web/wp-content/includes/upgrade.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php/lib/php’) in /home/www/1b3cdc2ba36a3d1ff0c298116ae64dea/web/wp-content/install.php on line 39
Can you give me a little more guidance as to what are and where do I find the webserver logfiles (access and error)?
Fri 2 Dec 2011 at 16:20 #49161FrankyKeymasterThe location of your logs should be given to you by the website administraor. Also, does these exist:
/home/www/1b3cdc2ba36a3d1ff0c298116ae64dea/web/wp-content/includes/upgrade.php
/home/www/1b3cdc2ba36a3d1ff0c298116ae64dea/web/wp-content/install.php
?
From what I can see, the WP file install.php requires upgrade.php but it can’t find it.
Fri 2 Dec 2011 at 17:46 #49162AnonymousInactivehi Franky. Well I found the problem! There was a copy of install.php in the wp-content folder. why and how I know not, but once removed eme installed without worry. thanks very much for your patience. I appreciate your help.

Mon 5 Dec 2011 at 22:39 #49164FrankyKeymasterAsk your provider for the mail settings on your webserver, or use phpmail in the settings. And please: don’t hijack other threads, open a new one for issues you might have.
