Events Made Easy › Forums › How do I … › Reoccurrence and upgrade issues
I am having two issues since updating to 4.01 that I have been unable to resolve on my own and I was helping you could point me in the right direction.
1. Reoccurrence – I have a lot of reoccurring events on my calendar. When I updated to the newest version, I now enter the recurrence dates, which I usually set as the same as the event date range. Ever since I started using this field, I have a hoard of issues on my calendar. The biggest problem is duplicates! I have duplicate events showing up both on the calendar and in the events widget. Take a look on my calendar page, on November 6th. You’ll see two events – Dixie Swim Club and Telluride Running Club – these events are showing up twice.

For the Event Date field, let’s say I have an event that runs every friday until december. So I would enter 10/21/11 and an end date of 12/30/11. I check recurrence, weekly, on fridays. For the recurrence dates, I enter the same date range. Am I doing it right? Since the update, this seems to be causing duplicates.
2. The other problem I have is with the widget. If you look at another page where i have the widget,

look at the first event – Climbing Wall. Until I updated, this event always showed up only on Fridays. Now it just sits there everyday, and never goes away. I haven’t changed any settings since upgrading.
Am I using the recurrence dates wrong?
Any suggestion you have would be so appreciated! My calendar used to be neat an tidy and it’s been a little wonky over the last few weeks.
Thanks!
For recurrence: you set the start/end date of a SINGLE event in the fields concerning “Event date”.
And in the field “Recurrence dates” you set the start and end date of the whole recurrent thing (all events).
This allows you to specify events that last multiple days and still have recurrence.
In your case: Put e.g. 10/21/11 in the start/end date of the event (single day event: same start and end date), and 10/21/11-12/30/11 in the start-end dates for the recurrence
