Events Made Easy › Forums › How do I … › Require specific membership for RSVP
Hi, I’ve done some searching around in the docs and forum and can’t figure this out. It seems like a natural feature so I am surprised I couldn’t find it.
How do I require a user to hold a specific, active membership for them to RSVP to an event? (Isn’t that kind of the point of event series memberships?)
Hi, does anyone know the answer to this question? I’ve scoured the docs and forums to no avail.
Currently events and memberships are not coupled in any way.
The future might be to require a WP user, check if that user is linked to an account in EME that has the required membership and then go on. But that is currently not yet there.
Thanks for answering, Franky. It seems strange that a Subscription functionality was added to this Events plugin but no connection to actual RSVP was made! I will add a proposal to the Feature Request board.
Not strange. I’ve never encountered the need to require a membership of something before being able to RSVP for an event, that’s all … But I do understand your question for it 🙂
I’m in the same boat as the OP. Our group requires membership to be able to RSVP to events. Not sure if there’s a workaround. Can you ONLY show an event IF a member belongs to a subscribed group?
The next version will have the following new cconditional tags: #_IS_USER_IN_GROUP{xxx} and #_IS_USER_MEMBER_OF{xxx} , so using [eme_if] and these, you can decide whether or not to show the rsvp form (example will be added to the doc)
Edit: also added #_ADDBOOKINGFORM_IF_USER_IN_GROUP{xxx} and #_ADDBOOKINGFORM_IF_USER_IS_MEMBER_OF{xxx} , which makes it extremely easy to decide to show the form for a certain group or membership.
Thanks!
