Send Email Alerts / Reminders for Events

Hi. First of all thanks for the best calendar plugin for WordPress. I’ve tried over 15 different plugins and your is perfect! No problems or bugs. I was wondering though if you could add some functionality that I think would be very useful.

Would you be able to offer an alert or reminder for those users who wish one. Most other calendar apps on the market offer this functionality. Eg a user could have a reminder sent to the email address he has used when registering on the site. And unregistered users can enter in their email address just for this event reminder feature (if they don’t want to register for the full site). Preferably they could set up more than one alert and choose the time from 2 select dropdown fields (one for a number between 1-9, and the other for a time period (eg hours, days, weeks, months)).

I understand it’s not a ‘small’ feature, but it would make the whole list of events so much more useful if they can send themselves reminders. After all, there’s little point in offering a list of interesting events if people forget about them when the time comes. So it’s more than just a technical addition to your plugin, but something that may actually have a significant effect on how many visitors you end up having for an event, which is the real-world purpose that we are all trying to fulfill. I believe just this one feature can make the largest difference to visitor numbers for events that do not require bookings.

Plus it would serve to add further great functionality to your already amazing plugin! I really hope you will be able to add this some day soon.

Reminders can now be sent to people registered for an event, but not to any email addresses. If you want that functionality, you should look into a newsletter or mailing list plugin.
