Share link to social upon publish

Normally, I would use something like SNAP to do this, but since EME events aren’t standard post types, this doesn’t work. So what I’m trying to do is have EME push out a share link to FB and possibly twitter when a new event publishes.

I’ve tried IFTTT and Zapier, but neither support ical or EME entries from WP.

Publishing towards facebook is a pita and I don’t support it anymore (facebook api is just too volatile and they change conditions all the time). You already found the code to send a mail to people, so if you find the code to integrate it with facebook/twitter/… then you can use that in the hook too.
