I’ve got the plugin set up, but when I started to test it, I got the following error:
Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to localhost:25 (Connection refused) in /home/iheiaorg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/events-manager-extended/phpmailer/class-smtp.php on line 122
Message was not sent
Mailer Error: SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.
I’m using version 3.30 on WP version 3.0.4, built on iThemes Builder developer framework, if that’s any help.
Thanks!
Lori
I think I’m making some headway, but it isn’t quite fixed, yet.
The site is hosted on HostGator using CPanel.
According to HG mail settings details, the outgoing server is set thus:
mail.iheia.org
Port: 26
Authentication required.
I entered the above info, selected Use SMTP Authentication to “Yes”, entered the UN and PW to the server into the respective SMTP areas on the Events Manager > Settings page.
When I tested the form, the error message disappeared, and the confirmation came up that the form was sent, but it hasn’t landed in my mailbox.
Did I miss something?
Thanks,
Lori
Ask your provider to check on the mail logs then
Hi Franky,
I checked my client’s email forwarding, and they had not set up the address they told me to use *eyes rolling*.
All is well, now.
Thanks!
Lori
hehe, I thought it would be something like that 🙂
Glad it works!
