I downloaded the Czech language .mo file from Translation of Stable.
Where and with what name should I place it in my WP site?

In the langs subdir, but it is unsupported (since the CZ file contains more than a thousand untranslated strings). I removed all languages from the langs subdir and now point everybody that wants a language to become a translation contributor on wordpress for the plugin.

    Thank you for your reply.
What is the minimum of translated strings for the language to become supported?

That’s a WordPress question. But I believe they require 100%

Usually I need translate only the front-end strings. Then the 100 % ‘rule’ is nonsensually limiting and unfair.
Events Made Easy is an exceptionally useful and good plugin I am using for years since its beginning (used to have different name then and iirc I also donated it). I am using quite many other WP plugins all of which support uncomplete translation.

Sorry, but I don’t make the rules concerning translations, that is a pure WordPress thing.
You can always become a WordPress translator and even just copy the English text to yours to achieve 100%. But again: I have nothing to do with this.

Sorry Franky, we probably do not understand ourselves.

My initial question is ‘Where and with what name should I place .mo file in my WP site’, I mean supposed the .po is (completely) translated. I cannot find this info in eme documentation.

Please, where at WordPress.org can I read the ‘rule of 100 %’?

Like I said in the beginning: “In the langs subdir”

And, like I say in a tagged post in the forum here:
For all new translations, go to https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/events-made-easy
From there on it is a wordpress thingie, not mine 🙂

Once a translation is 100% there, it will be automatically distributed by wordpress with the next plugin update.

The only languge in Event Made Easy 100 % translated is German. When I download the plugin’s version 2.0.31 I do not see the German .mo in langs subdir.

The automatic download from wordpress doesn’t go in that folder, that’s again wordpress regulated (I have no control over where that goes).
Only “own” language files can be put there. And Dutch is also ok, but I need to correct 2 strings.

After some investigation I found WP works like this:

When plugin’s translation through WP_Translation is finished and so ready for update, WP update places .mo and .po files into /wp-content/languages/plugins subdirectory.
These files are given name <plugin folder name>-<language code><.mo or .po>

    E.g. events-made-easy-de_DE.mo, events-made-easy-de_DE.po.

    Thank you j-prause !

I encountered the very same problem, in changing some translation-details in nl_NL: I did not know where to look for the .mo/.po-files
Thanks to your postings I succeeded in finding the files.

    Regards, Wietze

If you think some translations in Dutch can be better, you can always give that to me so I can update those.
