I have been beta testing WordPress 3.2 which is currently scheduled to launch June 30th. There are numerous improvements, including substantial speed improvements, an improved admin user interface, a new Twenty Eleven theme, and other things. PHP 5.2.4 and MySQL 5.0 are now minimum requirements. IE6 is no longer supported. The admin system favorites menu has been removed. Plugins that use that feature must be modified. You can read more about the changes at http://wordpress.org/news/2011/05/wordpress-3-2-beta-1/.
The past few days I have been testing the current EME trunk version with WordPress 3.2 Release Candidate 2 and haven’t found any problems.
WordPress 3.2 will be released with both the old Twenty Ten and the new Twenty Eleven themes. Many WordPress users fail to realize that they are responsible manually apply changes to their own customized themes. The Twenty Ten theme in WordPress 3.2 has two fixes that should be manually applied to custom themes patterned after previously-released Twenty Ten themes. They are on Line 34 in loop-attachment.php and Line 46 in loop-single.php.
